- The study wants to see how various transcranial electrical stimulation frequencies affect thinking and memory in dementia.

- Adults who have degenerative or mixed dementia.

- You will receive daily brain‑stimulation (tACS or tRNS) while doing short cognitive exercises, with music if you like, for 4 weeks per treatment. After each 4‑week period there is a 12‑week break before the next stimulation type.

- The trial runs for several months, with daily sessions during each 4‑week treatment block and periodic clinic visits for the different treatment periods.

- Having a history of epileptic seizures or epilepsy
- Inability to adequately communicate in English
- Impaired vision or hearing severe enough to impair performance in cognitive tests
- Current substance abuse disorder
- Currently participating in another therapeutic study for dementia

- Impaired vision or hearing severe enough to impair performance in cognitive tests
- Current substance abuse disorder
- Currently participating in another therapeutic study for dementia
- Plan to change the medication during any treatment period (5 weeks including the pre-post assessments)
